About IDACWY

Upon moving to Wyoming in 2007 with her born-and-bred Wyoming husband, our founder, Mégan Gorman, became passionate about bringing Irish dance to the area. Mégan coordinated with her sister, Anné Ellis Donovan, a certified Irish dance teacher in Ohio, to form a satellite school of Richens/Timm Academy here in Wyoming.

Anné Ellis Donovan T.C.R.G.

In Anné’s competitive career as a dancer with the renowned Richens/Timm Academy of Irish Dance, she qualified for the World Irish Dance Championships seven times.  In addition to this coveted accomplishment, she consistently competed and recalled at the North American Nationals and the All Ireland Championships.

Looking to request dancers for a special event?

Anné studied under the direct tutelage of Ann Richens, a native of Ireland and one of the most respected figures in the Irish Dance world and John Timm the 1993 Senior Men’s World Champion.  While in college, Anné successfully auditioned for the Riverdance program.  Anné retired from competition in 2007, passed her TCRG exam with honors in December of 2008, and received her Certificate to Teach Irish Dance from An Coimisium le Rinci Gaelacha (the Commission of Ireland) in February of 2009.

After teaching students at the Richen/Timm Academy in Ohio and simultaneously traveling to instruct a satellite group of dancers in Casper Wyoming, Anné and her husband Michael relocated to Wyoming in 2011 – to the delight of the Casper Irish Dance community.

Along with her TCRG, Anné studied in Dublin, Ireland, holds a degree in English from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Literature from the University of Dayton.

Known for its outstanding success in the competitive arena, Richens/Timm has produced a multitude of World Qualifiers each year over the past decade; and with performances a staple, has supplied both Riverdance and Lord of the Dance with numerous outstanding dancers (several capturing lead roles).

Historically, Richens/Timm Academy dancers have acquired scores of Regional Championships, more than a dozen North American Championships, multiple All-Ireland Championships, and, as icing on the cake, Richens/Timm dancers have succeeded in twice claiming the elusive title of World Champion . . . could your child be next?
